National Alzheimer’s Day 2015

This Monday, September 21 is National Alzheimer’s Day which is designated to bring awareness about Alzheimer’s and Dementia. According to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, “Every 68 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer’s disease, and the rate will increase to as many as 16 million by year 2050.” It is very difficult to witness a loved one’s mental decline as the disease progresses, and although there is no cure, there is very promising research and treatment that can offset the symptoms and effects of the disease.
