Buck and I were challenged by our care partners to participate in the ALS Ice-Bucket Challenge. We will be donating to the ALS Foundation, to increase awareness in our community, we wanted to have our family, friends, care partner teams, and residents see us get a bucket of icy cold water poured over our heads. Our team members helped pull it all together this afternoon, and it was a joyful event. Some of our current assisted living residents even were able to join us.
Over the past sixteen years, our care partners have cared for residents who have been affected by ALS and also their families. We have all seen first-hand the disease process and the devastating symptoms the comes with ALS. Our donation the ALS Foundation is to honor of those residents we cared for and the ones we may care for in the future. On-site physician services, Home Health, and Hospice agencies have also been a part of our care team. The multidisciplinary team approach keeps the resident at the center of care.
