Moving Into Assisted Living During COVID-19

How We Protect Our Residents

At Unlimited Care Cottages, we follow all the safety guidelines recommended by the CDC for assisted living facilities. As we welcome new seniors into our cottages, we do everything possible to minimize the risks of coronavirus exposure. We take care to emphasize phone assessments, COVID-19 tests, social distancing, and self-quarantine measures.

2-Week Transition After Move-In

We’ve also adopted a 2-week transition period for new residents. We use this time to learn more about new residents and to ensure that they neither pass the virus on nor are exposed to it right after arriving. During the transition period, your loved ones will enjoy our in-room services. We’ll always be available to our residents to keep them safe, healthy, and happy during this period.

Pro Tip: Most evidence suggests that the coronavirus has an incubation period of about 2 weeks. Keeping our new residents quarantined for a 2-week period after moving in ensures they won’t unintentionally spread the virus to others in our cottages.

Ongoing Care & Services

We also understand how resident engagement is essential for our seniors. That’s why we’ve come up with several engagement resources and opportunities to ensure that all new residents enjoy healthy social lives. We’ve tailored everything to suit the needs and interests of your loved ones. We especially encourage you to stay connected with your elderly family members through video-chatting tools and apps.

We know that seniors living with conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s are more vulnerable to the coronavirus, so we offer specialized care for residents with such health conditions. Our professional caregivers conduct regular health screenings to keep COVID-19 far away as your loved ones undergo memory care treatments.
